Clarity Breathwork as a Life Practice

by Jeri Lawson

I see my life in two chapters: before Clarity Breathwork and after Clarity Breathwork.

I found Clarity Breathwork in 2006 and discovered that Breathwork was a direct route to releasing my migraines. Clarity Breathwork also helped me clear deep, unconscious blocks out of my physical, mental and emotional body. I know this clearing is an important part of my life’s purpose on this planet.

I had been having migraines for over 13 years and despite everything I tried the headaches were only getting more intense. My first Clarity Breathwork experience was in a Group Breathing Circle lead by Maggie Ostara and I was shocked at my experience. The whole right side of my body tightened up and went into spasms throughout most of the breathe, while the left side of my body felt almost normal. I was thrilled because I knew this pattern was connected to my headaches. The right side of my body had always contracted the day before the onset of a migraine.

After the circle, I signed up for private sessions with Maggie Ostara and I ended up breathing with her 17 times. Those sessions changed my life. The intensity of my migraines greatly decreased during these breathes, and with additional changes in diet and exercise I was soon headache free.

In addition to my sessions with Maggie, I also started breathing with Ashanna Solaris’s CD “Healing Yourself with Breath.” I still breath with this journey whenever I feel triggered, uninspired or in need of inner guidance. I have listened to this CD more that any other guided meditation or piece ofmusic in my library.  I still hear words, statements, and affirmations from Ashanna during my breathes that I swear I had never heard before. I also breathe when my shoulders and back feel tight or tired. Breathing keeps my physical body relaxed, clear and energized.

I use Clarity Breathwork as a meditation, a prayer and as a major part of my spiritual practice. Sometimes I do a more traditional meditation before or after breathing, and sometimes I breath with yoga or other energetic practices. I also do private sessions at least every two weeks with a trained Breathworker holding space for me.

For me, Breathworkis a spiritual process that connects me to that infinite source of all that is. I can tangibly feel it - that experience of being connected to all that is. My heart expands and there is so much joy. The more I access this feeling, this dimension, this altered state, the easier it is for me to be present in my body and in my life. This incredibly real and physical experience of the universal life energies is the greatest healer of all.
